We are launching Ilium US Ventures, an evergreen investment holding that will give qualified European investors access to US tech opportunities that have traditionally been out of reach.
Why we’re doing this
For years, investors have asked us to participate in our US deals. The issue is widely recognized: the best tech transactions in the United States remain largely inaccessible from Europe. Limited network access, structural barriers, unfamiliarity with co-investment channels—these are obstacles we’ve learned to navigate on our own behalf since 2019. Ilium US Ventures is the natural next step: opening this approach to other investors.
What makes access possible
Our merchant bank model, combining M&A advisory and direct investment, has allowed us to build long-term relationships with key players in US venture: established California-based funds, university endowments, Silicon Valley family offices. It’s this network, and the credibility that comes with it, that we’re now leveraging through Ilium US Ventures.
A structure built for the long term
Rather than a traditional fund with a predetermined exit horizon, we chose an evergreen format. The goal: deploy capital opportunistically, free from the pressure of conventional ten-year cycles, with the flexibility to support investments from seed stage through tech LBOs.
A disciplined co-investment approach
Every transaction is executed alongside US partners whose due diligence serves as a first filter. Our internal analysis follows. This approach has already enabled us to build a portfolio that includes several unicorns—a track record Ilium US Ventures intends to extend.
